Integrating new digital tools into education can be daunting, leading teachers to hesitate to implement them fully and consistently. How can educators bridge the gap between traditional teaching methods and digital tools, ensuring a seamless and impactful integration that allows students to learn effectively?
In the last episode of Innovation unpackaged, Host Amy Chodroff talks with Boxlight education consultants Farah Ihsan and Emily Turk about how to successfully navigate digital transformation in education. Their stimulating discussion delves into:
- Evolution of classroom environments with technology.
- Strategies for educators to adapt to new technological tools.
- Influence of technology to boost student engagement and creativity in the post-pandemic era.
Farah shares her unique teaching experiences before and after the pandemic, highlighting the rapid integration of technology into classrooms. He also comments on the need to adapt to changes.
“Every school is different…we have to meet them where they are. We have a variety of products and a wealth of knowledge, but it won't be appropriate to offer this in every school we visit. We… have to help them adapt to their changes, (and we) have to adapt the way they us help them too.”
Emily provides her thoughts on what she sees as the learning environments of the future:
“I believe the classroom of the future will be student-designed, student-led, and the resources in the classroom… how they interact with people outside the classroom… they are the ones in charge of their learning. and direct their learning. And a teacher is there to facilitate and guide how they do it with the resources they have.”
In this Unbox Innovation Episode, Amy, Farah, and Emily delved into the dynamic landscape of educational technology. From adapting to diverse school needs to envisioning student-led learning, they discussed the changing role of technology in shaping the classroom of the future. Watch the full episode here:
