TRON Academy sponsors Princeton Blockchain Club and partners with TRON Climate Initiative

TRON Academy has become the official sponsor of the Princeton Blockchain Club, the main blockchain-focused student organization at Princeton University, whose goal is to build a vibrant and diverse network for Web3 natives on campus. TRON DAO is delighted to be engaged with such a prestigious institution and innovative club with a like-minded focus on educating the next generation of blockchain developers.

TRON Academy continues to expand its empowerment presence on a growing number of college campuses, including a recent workshop at the University of California at Irvine. Blockchain at UCI is an ecosystem for blockchain education, development, and networking at and around UC Irvine. They collaborate with industry leaders to host events with blockchain companies seeking to identify efficient and practical blockchain technologies, as well as help students in Orange County develop the skills necessary for a blockchain career. On Thursday and Friday, January 26 and 27, 2023, Blockchain at UCI hosted the TRON DAO team for a workshop focused on the basics of Web3 and potential development opportunities available in the TRON ecosystem.

TRON Academy also recently launched a research competition in collaboration with the TRON Climate Initiative. Ambitious and creative college students who are passionate about a more sustainable blockchain future are invited to submit their work. Interested student groups are required to conduct research and then write articles that explore the environmental impact of blockchain technologies, as well as suggest potential green strategic solutions. Winning teams will have the opportunity to publish their research paper on the TRON Climate Initiative website and receive funding for their organization’s efforts.

These are the details of the competition:

TIMELINE:

• January 27, 2023 _ announce and begin accepting early submissions
• February 2023 _ official acceptance of submissions from higher education student organizations
• March 2023 _ progress tracking and verification of TRON Academy organizations
• April 2023 _ review and judge TRON Climate Initiative research papers
• May 2023 _ hold a virtual event to announce winners and award prizes

AWARDS:

Prizes will be awarded to ten winners in a tiered distribution from first to tenth place. The total prizes distributed will be USD 7,000.

• 1st Place: 1,500 USD
• 2nd Place: 1,250 USD
• 3rd Place: 750 USD
• 4th to 10th Place: 500 USDD
• Grand Total: 7,000 USD

REQUIREMENTS:

• All papers must be submitted in English and adhere to standard academic format guidelines.
• Teams must be made up of a minimum of three members and a maximum of five members.
• Teams must be registered as students at a college or university and provide contact information for a faculty administrator or sponsor (at least provide proof of attendance/current school record).
• All documents must be submitted via the TRON Climate Initiative website before the deadline date provided.
• All documents must include a thorough and accurate analysis of the current state of blockchain technologies and their environmental impact.
• All documents should also include a thorough exploration of potential green strategies and solutions that could be implemented to reduce environmental impact.
• All papers must be original, unpublished work and must not have been submitted to any other organization or competition (however, teams may build on and expand on previous research and writing).
• Student team members must write all content submitted for this competition (no faculty written content).
