A few months after it was first released, Star Wars Outlaws is getting some major updates. First is the game. first batch of downloadable contentwhich adds a new story involving Lando Calrissian and what appears to be a very dangerous Sabacc game. The new expansion is called Wildcard and will be followed by a second DLC update next spring called A pirate's fortune.
Perhaps the most significant thing today is Outlaws It will also receive a major update to address some of the game's technical and design issues. Ubisoft describes it as “the game's biggest patch yet.” Most notably, it seems, the stealth sections, a major point of frustration for many players, have been toned down.
Ubisoft says the update includes “stealth and combat updates that allow players to have more options, including using stealth or reaching for their blaster, even in syndicate territories in cities.” Similarly, there are “enemy detection and ai improvements, with players being notified when they are being detected and can choose to escalate or change tactics to remain stealthy.”
Our first step in expanding player options is to remove forced stealth from almost all mission objectives. This does not mean that hiding is no longer a viable or even preferable option in some cases. Rather, if you are caught while sneaking, the objective will not fail and reset you to the last checkpoint. Instead, you will transition seamlessly into combat.
