YouTube is informing Premium subscribers outside the US that they will soon pay more for the service, social media users began reporting over the weekend. So far, the highest prices are being reported in regions including the EU, the Middle East and South America. according Android Authority.
The price increase affects both individual and family plans. In some EU countries, users have reported being told that their family plans will go from €17.99 to €25.99 (or from €11.99 to €13.99 for individuals). Another Reddit user posted Screenshots of a Premium Lite plan Option, accompanied by a beta label. YouTube had begun testing a version of Premium with fewer features than the standard plan in 2021, but told customers last year that it was discontinuing it.
