Summer is usually a quiet time for tech news, but Samsung is about to shake things up a bit. The next Samsung Unpacked event is scheduled for tomorrow, July 10. It will take place in Paris at 3pm local time (9am US Eastern Time). If you want to tune in live, all the details on how to watch Samsung Unpacked are here.
The company launched its Galaxy S24 devices earlier this year following its first Unpacked of 2024, so it’s highly unlikely we’ll see any new takes on the traditional smartphone format here (perhaps except for Olympics-branded models given Samsung’s sponsorship of that event). There’s a decent chance that Samsung will show off its latest set of foldable devices, though. Rumors suggest it’s set to reveal a new smartwatch, too. And then there’s the small matter of the smart ring that Samsung has been hinting at this year.
What to expect from Samsung Unpacked in July 2024
Samsung Galaxy Ring
Samsung's smart ring is its most intriguing upcoming device. It's an entirely new product category for the company, though Samsung has been preparing for it by honing its health and wellness technology in its other devices over the past few years.
The Samsung Galaxy Ring is expected to arrive “in or around August,” according to the company itself, so it would be more of a surprise if the device No After showing off the device at Unpacked in January, Samsung revealed more details about it in February. The Galaxy Ring will be available in three colors (platinum silver, gold, and ceramic black) and in several sizes.
The ring will measure heart rate, movement, and breathing to help monitor sleep. It's also expected to support fertility tracking. The Galaxy Ring will also be able to pair with a Galaxy Watch, so if you wear both, you're likely to get more accurate health data.
Naturally, the Galaxy Ring will be compatible with Galaxy phones, but Samsung intends for it to work with other Android phones. As of February, iOS compatibility was still undetermined, so perhaps the rival Oura device will remain the preferred choice for many iPhone users. For what it's worth, some of the company's smartwatches they are compatible with certain iPhones and non-Samsung Android phones.
Samsung has yet to reveal the exact release date or price of the Galaxy Ring. However, that information will almost certainly be announced at Unpacked.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6
It's probably the right time for Samsung to launch new foldable devices as we head into the second half of the year and (don't say this out loud because summer has just started in the Northern Hemisphere) the holiday shopping season. It's quite possible that we'll see the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 at Unpacked.
Updates are expected to be relatively minor. Rumors suggest The Z Flip 6 will have a modest battery capacity increase to 4,000mAh, an option to increase RAM to 12GB, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Camera improvements also seem likely, as Samsung is said to be bringing the same 50MP camera seen on the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 to the Z Flip 6.
As for the star folding, the Galaxy Z Fold 6It is expected to have the same screen size and thickness as last year's model. The protective screen may adopt Corning Gorilla Armor for added durability along with anti-glare technology.
There doesn't seem to be any improvement in the cameras, though there may only be a very small increase in battery capacity. However, it's a safe bet that there will be an update to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
Meanwhile, a leak has suggested that both devices will receive a $100 price increase compared to last year's models. We'll have to wait until Unpacked to find out for sure if that's the case.
There has also been talk of a more premium model. Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultraas well as slim versions Both foldable form factors, however, could arrive alongside the Galaxy S25 line in early 2025. If they do appear at July's Unpacked event, it's likely to be a teaser at best.
Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Ultra

It's expected to feature a 3nm chipset that could improve power efficiency and performance. The health sensors are also likely to be upgraded.
Since it's 2024, there will naturally be some ai-powered features. A listing details ai-powered sleep, exercise, and communication features, including a smart reply feature for the latter.
But that's not all, as there are hints that a Galaxy Watch Ultra is also on the way. A series of leaks images Rumors suggest that it will be bulkier than the standard Galaxy Watch models. The device is expected to have a rectangular design with a round face. What's more interesting is that the Galaxy Watch Ultra could have a crown-style digital face and a combination of buttons on the side instead of a rotating bezel for navigation.
Rumors point to a price tag of $700, which would be significantly more expensive than other Galaxy Watch devices. Hopefully Samsung has included enough features to make it worthwhile.

Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro
It's been a couple of years since the last Galaxy Buds models (not counting last year's FE variant), so it's time for an update. We're likely to see the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro at Unpacked on July 10.
Both models will be available in silver and white and will have an IP57 rating for dust and water resistance, as well as compatibility with SmartThings Find, according to Android Headlines.
As with the Buds 2 Pro, the Buds 3 Pro are expected to have a two-way speaker designed to deliver richer audio, while the regular Buds 3 will have a single-way speaker. The higher-end model is also said to offer adaptive noise control, blade lights, and ambient sound. The Buds 3 Pro are also expected to offer longer battery life than the cheaper model, though both are believed to have active noise cancellation.
There's another big change expected, as rumors indicate that Samsung is willing to imitate Apple's AirPods. adopting a stem design. Whether you like that format or not, there is one clear advantage of the stem: it puts the microphone a little closer to your mouth, which should improve call quality. For what it's worth, when Samsung revealed the Galaxy Buds Live in 2020, it said those x.com/harrymccracken/status/1291025840759640064″ rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank” data-ylk=”slk:lacked an "awkward stem.";elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:24;pos:1;itc:0;sec:content-canvas”>lacked an “awkward stem.”
Galaxy Reserve Early Bird Offers
As it has been doing in recent years, Samsung has now made it possible to reserve “one of the next-generation Galaxy devices at Samsung.com. ” That will make you eligible for a $50 “instant Samsung credit” and “up to $1,500 in savings when you pre-order.” Of course, this doesn't tell us much about what to officially expect from the company, but it's a sign that there will be at least something To book, right?
