Walmart would have to sell a kidney to buy a giant 4K TV for the living room. This is no longer true, as television prices continue to drop. Case in point? Vizio just announced a new 86-inch 4K smart TV that costs just $999.
The first thing worth mentioning about the latest member of Vizio's 4K TV lineup is its size. The next largest model measures 75 inches and is already large enough to take up absolutely most spaces. This will be like having a Times Square sign in your living room. That's not a bad thing, especially for home theater fans.
We don't know yet what this set will look like in action, but it offers a lot of features. Vizio says it “features the same powerful image quality as its predecessors,” thanks to the inclusion of Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10+. The company also promises that the TV will be able to run games at 120fps once it switches to 1080p. We hope the product can do it. Other features include dual-band Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and DTS:X audio.
Walmart accepted, although the deal still faces regulatory approval. The 86-inch 4K TV officially goes on sale on April 29 in physical and digital stores.
