It's easy to fall into cynicism when writing about technology. There are so many iterative improvements. Companies like it to be a magical elixir sent by the gods. The layoffs. Sometimes, however, you find something simple, useful and fun that inspires optimism. That's where I am with the Vizio MicMe. It is a sound bar that also works as a karaoke machine. It's a good idea, right?
MicMe is billed as a “two-in-one soundbar system” that completely eliminates the need for a clunky standalone karaoke speaker. It's a legitimate 2.1 soundbar, complete with a subwoofer. Will do the job with respect to endless streams of Agatha all the time either Nobody wants this.
It also comes with two dynamic wireless microphones, and that's where the karaoke magic comes in. The company says that the sound bar enters karaoke mode when one of the microphones is removed from the charging base, without the user having to manipulate anything. However, there is an affiliated mobile application to make sound adjustments. This app also allows access to six different vocal effects.
Each microphone features eight hours of battery life per charge, which means a solid karaoke session from 8 pm to 4 am Vizio says the MicMe will have access to 80,000 songs through the proprietary app. It also integrates with many standalone karaoke apps, such as Stingray. There should be no shortage of songs to ruin or master.
The hybrid soundbar supports Vizio's QuickFit technology, which allows it to connect to company TVs without tools. It is also fully compatible with any smart TV with eARC. The MicMe costs $350. You can order one now, but it won't ship until late November.
