Players are no stranger to delayed seasons, but the division 2 The players find themselves in a particularly awkward situation. Ubisoft has revealed that a development “bug” has broken the shared-world shooter’s build generation system, and thus the studio’s ability to update the game. The team is not only unable to release the new season that they delayed last week, but also unable to extend the previous one until they fix the build functionality.
Ubisoft says that it has made “good progress” in fixing the problem in the last few days, and there are indications that a fix is in the offing. the company is in the middle from a three-hour “unscheduled maintenance” session as we write this, and is using the downtime to fix issues which include the inability to make seasonal in-game purchases. Servers should be back online around 1pm ET if there are no complications.
The timing is particularly bad for this problem. Ubisoft recently canceled three games in response to falling revenue, and workers at its Paris studio went on strike last month to protest what they say are unfair working conditions. Things are not going well in the editor, and it may take a while before there is any degree of stability.
