The person who tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump during a rally on Saturday had a Discord account, although he rarely used it, the company said.
“Discord deleted the account based on our Off-Platform Behavior Policy “We are assisting authorities in their investigation,” Discord's chief legal officer Clint Smith said in an emailed statement. “The suspect's account was rarely used, has not been used in months, and we have found no evidence that it was used to plan this incident, promote violence, or discuss his political views, but with the ongoing investigation, we are unable to share any additional information at this time.” Discord did not respond to a request for comment.
