My condolences to everyone at Microsoft affected by what will reportedly be a huge round of layoffs. It is believed that around 5 percent of the tech giant’s workforce will be affected, which translates to 10,000 people who could lose their jobs. It would make Microsoft the latest tech giant to have cut thousands of jobs in recent months, following layoffs at companies like Meta and Amazon.
In lighter news, Samsung is making more parts and manuals available through iFixit, allowing would-be do-it-yourselfers to fix Galaxy S22 devices nearly a year after launch. So if your Galaxy S22 breaks down when the next Galaxy S23 lineup launches in February, you now have the option of trying to fix it yourself instead of upgrading your device (repair shops are, of course, still an option).
Finally, Apple has reportedly put plans to release a pair of lightweight augmented reality glasses on hold due to “technical challenges.” His mixed reality headset (which would offer AR Y VR) is still believed to be on track for this year, but it’s now unlikely that these sleek AR glasses will only meet their projected 2025 release date.
For now, here’s a silly tweet to start your day (don’t worry, it’s not actually “confidential content” as the disclaimer suggests):
