These may look like a typical pair of earrings outfitted with rather large pearls, but they’re more than just jewelry—they actually double as ultra-discreet headphones (via gizmodo). The clip-on or stud H1 Audio Earrings by Nova Audio They have two speakers behind both pearls (which are TRUEbtw) that use directional sound to transmit audio up and into your ears.
nova says the technology adds “a layer of sound” to your surroundings, allowing you to hear what’s going on around you while enjoying your audio, similar to Sony’s open-style LinkBuds or Aftershokz’s bone conduction headphones. That means they don’t have any noise-canceling properties, which could be useful for athletes who want to be aware of their surroundings, as well as anyone else who doesn’t want to tune in. everything outside.
Even though the speakers stay outside of your ear, Nova says its directional sound technology helps prevent other people from hearing what you’re listening to. The audio earring offers up to 3.5 hours of music playback or 2.5 hours of talk time with the four built-in microphones. The included charging case, which looks like a fancy earring case, provides up to three full charges, for about 14 hours of total listening. There is also a button built into the earrings that allows you to control audio playback and phone calls.
As someone who wears earrings quite often, I’m not sure how I’d feel about replacing my everyday earrings with a pair of audi-emitting earrings. One thing I like about my Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is that I have the option to wear earrings Y headphones if I choose. Also, the earrings weigh around 7.7 grams each, a bit heavy if you’re not used to jewelry tugging at your earlobes.
But I can still see how Nova’s audio earring might be an attractive option, especially if you’re looking for an all-in-one solution for audio. Y style. Nova isn’t the only brand that has tried to combine headphones and fashion (although there haven’t been too many that dangle outside of the ear). The Planet Beyond came up with nice pair of in-ear headphones in the shape of a seashell that you can add various accessories toand there is even pending over there that clip stylishly to your AirPods.
Nova’s audio earrings come in gold and silver, and cost €695 (~USD 753) and €595 (~USD 645), respectively. While they’re currently available across Europe, Nova says they’ll be available in the US and Japan early this year.
