If you weren't satisfied last year, you'll have another chance to witness the rise and fall of the once iconic smartphone. Filmmaker Eddie Schmidt, one of the directors behind the Netflix series Ugly deliciousis preparing a documentary about the telephone, .
The documentary is currently in production and is being made by Unrealistic Ideas, which is a production company founded by Mark Wahlberg, also known as the guy from FearThis team was behind HBO McMillionsa documentary miniseries about McDonald's infamous Monopoly promotion scam.
The project doesn't yet have a title or release date, but we do know that the filmmakers have been given exclusive access to the Research In Motion Alumni Association, so there will be plenty of interviews with former executives who were involved in BlackBerry's history in one way or another. The film will also include “a number of never-before-seen archival footage.”
Director Schmidt shared a statement and said he's excited to “explore this unpredictable real-life saga at the intersection of technology and pop culture.” However, one thing the documentary won't have is actor Glenn Howerton killing it in his role as former Research In Motion CEO Jim Balsillie.
