Rivian announced the California Dune edition of its R1 electric vehicles, with new 20 -inch wheels all -terrain, a new paint color and a protector under the body shield for those who want a little of a little race.
The company says that the vehicles of the Dune of California edition are “built to face the most difficult land.” Rivian evidence already offers a series of different driving modes, including soft sand, but now the automobile manufacturer is building a vehicle specifically for those desert adventures.
“Built to face the toughest land”
The special edition is based on the company's tri-motor motor train, which offers 850 horsepower and 1,103 lb-ft of torque. That means acceleration of 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds, with a range estimated by the EPA of 329 miles. But the new complement will not be cheap: the California Dune version of the R1T truck starts at $ 99,900, while the SUV R1s starts at $ 105,900.
The totally terrestrial wheels of 20 “come in two styles: newly introduced dark wheels or the new California dune finish wheels that coincide with the color of the outer paint. That new paint is called California Dune, which Rivian says he was inspired In “the subtle natural nuances of desert dunes with quiet and terrible tones that offer a neutral and warm sensation.”
And because it cannot offer a new paint color without refreshing the interior, Rivian offers a new two -tone adventure interior with sandstone covered with a black mountain layer (those are colors, I suppose). The newly durable and easy -to -clean floor carpets allow rapid elimination of sand and other off -road deaths.
There are also a range of accessories to choose from, which include Dark Maxtrax recovery boardsIn case your Rivian is caught in a deep sand and needs additional help to leave. The California Dune edition also comes with dark transverse bars and a tonneau with a new appearance.
The new special edition evidence is announced on the eve of a Crucial Rivian Gains Report. The company will report its results of the fourth quarter, as well as its full year numbers and perspectives for 2025.
