According to an experiment carried out by The Wall Street JournalInstagram’s Reels video service would offer “racy images of children, as well as overtly sexual adult videos” to its test accounts that exclusively followed teen and tween influencers, typically young gymnasts and cheerleaders.
While these tests do not represent actual user experiences (as tech companies tend to counter), adding child sexualization content was apparently a known issue internally, according to current and former Meta employees interviewed by WSJ.
Meta told its advertising clients that it was investigating and would “pay for brand safety audit services to determine how often a company’s ads appear next to content it finds objectionable.”

ByteDance’s Latest Layoffs Have Reportedly Destroyed Marvel Publisher Snap

According Reuters and Bloomberg, TikTok’s parent company ByteDance is closing its gaming division, including the Nuverse brand, and “hundreds” of jobs are likely to be affected. Nuverse, acquired by ByteDance in 2017, is the publisher of featured titles Marvel Snap, Ragnarok X: Next Generation and One Piece: Blood Routes. Despite the apparent success of these games, ByteDance CEO Liang Rubo reportedly criticized the gaming division for its lack of focus.

Tesla sues Sweden for blocking license plate delivery during labor strike
A district court sided with the automaker in a tentative decision.
Tesla sued Sweden’s transportation agency and postal service over a union strike that blocked the company’s license plate deliveries in the country. Workers are striking to demand that the non-union automaker sign a collective agreement, a standard practice that mechanics union IF Metall describes as “the backbone of the Swedish model.” However, the Swedish Transport Agency says it has already received a provisional decision from a district court, ordering it to give its consent within seven days to Tesla’s request to collect the license plates or face heavy fines.
