Way back in 2013, we learned that Hollywood royalty Steven Spielberg had teamed up with Microsoft to create a live-action Halo TV series. The idea took about ten years to come to fruition, but now streaming service Paramount+ has cancelled the show after just seventeen episodes. The first season is set to premiere in 2022, with the second earlier this year. We’d been talking about the show’s debut, but it’s still a sad conclusion to a big-budget project.
According to an anonymous source According to a source, the show's creators plan to offer up the project and find a new home for the Master Chief and Cortana chronicles. “We are deeply grateful to the millions of fans who pushed the project forward.” aura “We look forward to the series being a global success and remain committed to expanding the Halo universe in a variety of ways in the future,” 343 Industries said. “We are grateful to Amblin and Paramount for their partnership in bringing our expansive sci-fi universe to audiences around the world.”
This is the final hurdle for UNSC fans to enjoy more Halo action. Not only is the TV show over, but last year's rounds of layoffs at Microsoft didn't leave 343 Industries unscathed. The studio reportedly had to release the next chapter in the series and we haven't heard much about the games since.
