Lego has just announced its first sets Inspired by the video game phenomenon FortniteThese kits are inspired by iconic characters and vehicles from both the original game and the brick-based spin-off. Lego Fortniteas an ouroboros of corporate synergy.
The most spectacular of all appears to be the 954-piece Battle Bus kit, which costs $100. It's a brick replica of the iconic hot air balloon on wheels, with a removable roof and characters such as Meowscles, Raven and Cuddle Team Leader, among others.
The 1414-piece Peely Bone set seems to appeal more to collectors than children. A giant version of the rare Fortnite character, who is half banana and half skeleton. The kit comes with accessories such as a pickaxe and a paint blaster. This set also costs $100.
The game’s beloved Supply Llama is also getting a kit. This 691-piece set allows fans to build the iconic character and comes with a ton of themed accessories, including a wrestler, Slurp Juice, Slap Juice, and more. This set costs $40, which isn’t bad at all given the number of pieces involved.
Finally, there is a small Durrr Burger kit, which is aimed directly at children. This 193-piece set integrates into the aforementioned Fortnite Landmark (it's a restaurant in the game). It even comes with an olive on a stick. The kit is only $15.
All these sets are Available for pre-order right now directly from Lego, but we have to wait a bit before they ship. The kits won't be officially released until October 1st. In the meantime, there's a good Jaws-a Legend of Zelda-inspired set coming in August and a massive 2,500-piece Legend of Zelda-inspired set shipping September 1.
