WhatsApp is launching a custom sticker maker for users with iOS 17 or later. Although you can now make stickers with drag and drop images from your gallery to the app, this goes a step further by allowing you to draw on top of them, add text, or paste another sticker.
To create a sticker from an existing image, open the app's sticker tray, select create stickerand then choose an image from your gallery. From there, you can proceed to customize your sticker by choosing a cutout, adding text, and drawing on it. You can also edit any previously created decals by opening the decal tray, long-pressing the decal you want to change, and then choosing edit sticker.
WhatsApp for the web already has a tool to create stickers, but customizing them directly in the mobile application is much more practical. The only catch is that you can only edit, not create, stickers if your device is running anything older than iOS 17. Meanwhile, Android users can only view and react to custom stickers for now, but they can at least try creating stickers generated by ai. stickers in place.
