In the lawsuit filed in 2020, Tesla claimed that Rivian encouraged outgoing Tesla employees to steal information and that it caught three employees drinking “heavily.” valuable and confidential information when they left for Rivian.” Rivian has denied the allegations from the beginning, calling them “baseless.”
Rivian filed a motion to have the lawsuit dismissed, but this was who tentatively ruled earlier this year that Rivian would have to face trial. The trial was expected to take place in 2025, but it now appears that the matter could conclude before the end of the year without reaching that.
