It seems that SpaceX is preparing to offer global roaming. As first reported , the company recently began emailing customers in countries where Starlink service is not yet available to invite them to try a new $200-per-month package that allows their terminals to provide Internet access “from almost anywhere in the world.” .

Despite the company’s growing constellation of small satellites, it is still awaiting regulatory approval to offer Internet access in many key markets, including India and Pakistan. Until then, the email SpaceX sent notes that global roaming services are “subject to regulatory approvals.” It adds that customers may experience “brief periods of poor connectivity, or none at all” as it works to expand its satellite network. Potential customers should also be prepared to pay an import fee for their Starlink terminal, in addition to the kit’s $599 price.
SpaceX already offers some more limited roaming options. In particular, there’s the company’s for existing residential users, which allows those customers to use their Starlink terminal while traveling within their home continent.
