sony has finally announced a release date for its PlayStation-branded Pulse Explore and Pulse Elite headsets. While the Pulse Explore headphones will be released on December 6, 2023, Sony’s wireless headphones will be released on February 21, 2024.
Both devices will be available for pre-order starting November 9 in the US, UK, France, Germany, and other European countries. You can reserve accessories through Sony PlayStation Direct Site and “select” retailers. The Pulse Explore headphones are priced at $199.99, but the Pulse Elite headphones are a slightly cheaper $149.99.
To enable the low-latency, lossless audio that Sony promises with these devices, you’ll need to use the included PlayStation Link USB adapter that connects to your PS5, PC, or Mac. We don’t know yet if you’ll need the dongle with the slimmer discless version of the PS5 coming out this fall or whether it will come with built-in technology like PlayStation Portal. We’ve reached out to Sony for more information on this and will update this article if we hear back. Sony will also sell its PlayStation Link USB adapter as a standalone item for $24.99.
In addition to 3D audio support, Sony says the Pulse Explore and Pulse Elite headphones will enable “seamless switching” between compatible devices while also allowing you to take calls and enjoy music while gaming. With Sony headphones, headsets and wearables, and The updated PS5 model will be out soon, the next few months will be quite important for PlayStation.
