The main show on Apple TV + returns after a year and a half. apple has revealed that the third season of ted lasso will premiere on March 15, with a new episode (12 in total) arriving every week. The trailer below doesn’t shed much light on the story, but those who have followed it so far know that there’s a lot to be worked out after the season two finale.
In season three, AFC Richmond struggle not only to prove themselves after promotion to the Premier League, but also against one of their old allies: Nate now works for Rebecca’s ex-Rupert at West Ham United. Roy Kent has to step into Nate’s place, while Ted, Rebecca and Keeley have to deal with both personal and professional challenges. It’s safe to assume that the optimistic but not naive tone of the series will stick.
The stakes are high in this new chapter. ted lasso it remains Apple’s best-known production, having won multiple awards. It’s potential proof that the company can produce a quality show with a substantial runtime. That being said, Apple isn’t as reliant on comedy as it used to be. Apple TV+ is gathering momentum with a number of well-received titles including Breaking off, slow horses and the Oscar winner coda. The service is still small compared to streaming heavyweights like Amazon and Netflix, but it’s no longer an untested newbie.
