Following a series of leaks, Samsung has unveiled its next set of flagship phones, detailing the new Galaxy S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra at its latest Unpacked event. The new smartphones officially launch on January 31 and are available for pre-order starting today, with the base model starting at $799.99, the Plus model starting at $999.99, and the high-end Ultra phone at starting at $1,299.99.
In our first hands-on experience with them, we didn't notice anything innovative about the Galaxy S24 family's hardware, although each phone features a slightly larger battery and screen than its predecessor. The Ultra now further justifies its premium price with a titanium build and all screens are noticeably brighter. Instead of reinventing the design wheel, Samsung has focused on creating a set of ai features that are based on ai-samsung-galaxy-s24-/”>Google's Fundamental Gemini Modelsmany of which seem genuinely useful, while others are just intended for fun.
Some of these features are processed entirely on the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, while others require server-side processing. These phones should also age much more gracefully, as Samsung generously delivers on Google's seven-year update promise, guaranteeing you at least seven major Android and security updates.
By now, you're probably wondering where you can order one before its official release later this month. Fortunately, you'll find good pre-order incentives no matter which carrier or retailer you prefer.
