Opera One, the generative ai-focused browser that Opera launched for desktop last year, is Now available for iOS devicesIt maintains the cleaner look of its desktop counterpart, but comes with a full-screen interface and features designed specifically for mobile use. The company said it saw 63 percent growth in new users across the European Union after the Digital Markets Act was implemented, and has now “embraced the opportunities presented by the new regulatory landscape.”
Users will be able to move the search bar to the bottom of the screen if that makes it easier to enter queries on the fly, especially if they’re only using one hand. They can also activate the search bar by simply swiping down the same way they would to search for apps on their phone. Additionally, the browser’s updated search feature may make it faster to look up information: As soon as they start typing, a set of predictive chips appears just above their keyboard with several possible options, including full URLs for websites they might want to visit. The colors of the browser’s top and bottom search bars change to blend in with the website the user is visiting, and both bars disappear as the user begins browsing.
And since Opera One is focused on generative ai features, it comes with the company’s built-in Aria browser assistant. Aria now has voice input, so users can speak their queries out loud. Additionally, users will be able to ask Aria to generate images using Google’s Image2 image generation model. Lastly, since Opera is focused on security, the One browser for iOS comes with a built-in ad blocker and a free VPN.
