As OnePlus approaches its 10th anniversary in December, it will launch a new flagship phone in Shenzhen, China, at 2:30 p.m. on December 5 (local time) to mark the occasion. The brand’s official website in China revealed the next OnePlus 12 with a striking resemblance to its predecessor, although the color of the camera island now matches that of the body, much like the similar-looking Ace 2 Pro. In addition to the gloss white and classic matte black options, the updated green design will have what appears to be a matte marble look, as opposed to the previous smooth gloss finish.
According to our sister site Yahoo technology Hong Kong, OnePlus has already shared some key specifications in several Weibo posts previously. These include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor (no surprises), a new Sony LYT-808 sensor for the 50-megapixel main camera, and a 64-megapixel 3X periscopic telephoto camera, both with Hasselblad’s magic touch, as from habit. Other details include a 2K display panel from China’s BOE, the iconic alert slider, wireless charging, infrared remote control and rain touch optimization, another feature carried over from the Ace 2 Pro.
For now, little else is known about the OnePlus 12, but we’ll know more in about a week. As for the rest of you outside of China, OnePlus told Engadget that a global launch date of December 15 will be announced. Stay tuned as we closely monitor the latest developments.
