MKBHD's new wallpaper app received its first major update after users criticized the app for its pricing and ad settings for free accounts. On Friday, the x.com/panels_art/status/1842227074284536287?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1842227074284536287%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=about%3Asrcdoc”>Announced panel count On x, people who use the app for free can now download high-resolution images (not just standard definition images) by viewing a single ad.
Previously, the app required users to sign up for a $11.99 per month (or $49.99 per year) subscription to access full-resolution images. It also required free users to view two ads before downloading standard definition wallpapers. Panels has since removed this requirement and will now allow users to download standard definition images without seeing ads.
Additionally, Panels removed ads from its explore page, where you can find new wallpapers to download, and added new art.
The update does not include any changes to the price of the Panels Plus subscription, but that is not so surprising given that Marques Brownlee (aka MKBHD) x.com/MKBHD/status/1838582554749755438″>has said“It's our personal challenge to work to deliver that kind of value for the premium version.”
