There is practically no indication in the trailers of Deadpool and Wolverine until now that Wolverine feels anything but disgust and irritation with Deadpool as they approach the fourth wall multiverse shenanigans the film has in store. That is made even more evident by a Hugh Jackman whose increasingly marked face seems to be more suitable to represent Logan as time goes by.
The new trailer leans much more toward one-liners than the previous two. Maybe that's because Marvel and Disney have already set up the film's emotional stakes, first for Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and then for Wolverine. This is all idiot jokes and a grumpy Jackman scowling, furious and staring with everything he's got.
This is “not Deadpool 3”” according to director Shawn Levy, who recently said On-screen rant which is “a two-handed character adventure.” Still, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams and Karan Soni will reprise characters from the first two films, along with several others. It hits theaters on July 26.
