Hello. Let's talk about ai Aloy. I saw the demonstration of technology earlier this week. Guerilla contacted me to let me know that the demonstration did not reflect anything that was actively in development. They did not use any of my performance for the demonstration, so none of my facial or voice data. And Guerilla has Aloy as a character.
So all that says, I feel worried. And not worried about Guerilla specifically or Horizon Or my performance or my career specifically. I feel worried about this art form. Game performance as an art form.
We are currently on strike. SAG-AFTRA is on strike against video games due to ai. Because this technology exists, because we know that game companies want to use it, we are asking for protections.
So, currently, what we are fighting is that you have to obtain our consent before making a version of ai in any way. You have to compensate us fairly and you must tell us how you are using this double ai.
And I feel worried not because technology exists. Not even because game companies want to use it. Because, of course, they do. They always want to use technological advances.
I imagine a video like this that has the performance of someone attached. That has the voice, face or movement of someone. And the possibility that if we lose this fight, that person will have no appeal.
They would not have any protection. Any way of defending itself. And that possibility … makes me very sad. My heart hurts. It scares me.
I love this industry and this art form and I want a new generation of actors. I want there to be so many more incredible games.
I want to continue.
