Parler grew as a social platform for far-right and conservative voices as a “free speech” alternative to Twitter. Amazon Web Services temporarily disconnected and removed it from the App Store and Google Play after being used as a location to plan and coordinate the January 6 Capitol riot.
Parler is owned by George Farmer, the husband of Candace Owens and an influencer in far-right media. Owens appeared alongside Ye on “White Lives Matter” Yeezy fashion shirts show during Paris Fashion Week in September, prompting a backlash.
Ye then began tweeting erratically, culminating in him saying he was going to “death with 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.” His Twitter account was suspended for this, but later reinstated under the ownership of Elon Musk. Ye has publicly made increasingly anti-Semitic comments, prompting companies like adidas end their relationship with him.
On Thursday, Ye appeared on The Alex Jones Show. infowars wearing a black mask. During his appearance, alongside white nationalist Nick Fuentes, Ye made a series of explicitly anti-Semitic comments that seemed to shock even Jones. He spoke about his controversy and that of Fuentes recent dinner with Donald Trump and said: “There are many things I love about Hitler.”
