The looming economic recession has scared the technology industry According to Crunchbase, US technology companies. having cut more than 52,000 jobs so far this year.
Tech companies rely heavily on US work visas to augment their staff, but when layoffs occur, visa employees are particularly affected. They have 60 days (or less) to find another job or uproot their entire life and move back home to their families. Sometimes this means abruptly removing your children from school. Sometimes it means that a partner with a visa linked to yours has to quit their job.
If you are a technology worker on a work visa who was recently laid off, I would like to speak with you. Maybe you worked at Twitter, Microsofteither platoon. EITHER Snap. EITHER coin base. EITHER Intel. EITHER Stripe. EITHER Lyft. EITHER Robin Hood. Or any number of other companies.
Did you find a new job? Are you still looking? What are you going through, financially, emotionally or otherwise?
