The reviews of Hyundai's small electric SUV that could are dripping inand it's clear that the Inster is a lovely way to get around town, regardless of its lack of speed compared to other EVs of similar size. The Inster's top speed for the long-range version is approximately 93 miles per hour (or 150 km/h), and it has acceleration from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 10.6 seconds, according to the Hyundai specifications released today.
Hyundai also revealed more details about the Inster's pricing, with European reviewers saying it's expensive compared to similar competition: £23,495 (about $25,477). In the United States, however, that's a price we can only dream of, as our most affordable options include the $35,000 Chevy Equinox EV or the hope that Tesla will deliver a cheaper car for around $25,000.
A newer compact electric vehicle to arrive in the United States is the Fiat 500e. At 143 inches long, it's only about 7 inches shorter than the Inster at 150.59 inches. However, the Inster has more internal storage since it's shaped like an SUV, plus it has a range of about 230 miles WTLP with the 49 kWh long-range battery compared to the 500e, which has less than 200 miles.
