You are forgiven if you have forgotten Humanitythe game of rez The Enhance studio from creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi. However, it’s finally close to release, and it’s getting expanded platform support in the process. Enhance and THA have Announced during Sony’s State of Play event that the bizarre puzzle-platformer hybrid is coming to PS4, PS5, PlayStation VR and PlayStation VR2 in May. A demo is also available today via the PlayStation Store, though you’ll have to act fast as it’s only available to play for a “limited time.”
The premise is clearer. You play a Shiba Inu (yes, seriously) who issues orders to guide crowds of humans to safety on pillars of light. And that’s just the beginning: he can look forward to flying people and lightsaber battles with the mysterious “Others,” among other oddities. There is a 90 level story mode, but you can also create your own maps to challenge other players.
Humanity it has been in development for a long time, to put it mildly. The title was unveiled in September 2019 and was scheduled to hit PS4 and PSVR sometime in the following year. It’s unclear what prompted the three-year wait (the pandemic certainly didn’t help), but it might be worth a look to see what took the developers so long.
