If you're in the market for a new phone, now is probably not the right time to buy an iPhone. Unless you're in the market for a new phone, desperate If you need a replacement, wait a few days because Apple's new iPhones will be revealed on Monday. That means you'll be able to opt for the company's latest and greatest or pick up the iPhone 15 at a discounted price very soon. Apple's event will take place on September 9 at 1:00 p.m. ET (10:00 a.m. PT) at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park in Cupertino. You can live stream the Apple event It's the Glowtime event on YouTube (which we have included above for your convenience), as well as in Apple Site.
In terms of new products, we're expecting four new iPhone models to be announced: the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Don't expect a huge step up from the iPhone 15, which our senior editor Billy Steele called the “most substantial update to the regular iPhone in years.” Instead, the biggest push will be around iOS 18 and Apple Intelligence. In terms of hardware, there will be the usual more powerful processor, display sizes may be tweaked slightly, and there will supposedly be a new dedicated camera button for the Pro models.
In addition to iPhones, we’ll also likely see new Apple Watch models (Series 10 or Series “x,” and perhaps an Ultra 3), along with new AirPods in both entry-level and Pro models. You can get the scoop on everything to expect at the event in our in-depth article on what to expect at the iPhone 16 launch.
For those of you who aren't planning on buying new Apple devices this year, you'll still have access to the latest iOS 18 update, likely in late September, as long as your device is eligible (find out here). Here's everything coming with this year's iOS 18 update, including Apple Intelligence and more Home Screen customization options.
Engadget's Cherlynn Low and Billy Steele will be in Cupertino to liveblog the iPhone event, so stay tuned for real-time news and analysis on September 9.
