Spring is in the air and, believe it or not, so are iPads. Apple will hold a live event tomorrow to unveil new entries in its tablet lineup at 10 a.m. ET. The keynote, called Let Loose, will be available to watch live in several ways. We are bursting the below so you can watch it right here, but the event is also available on the and in the Apple TV+ application.
So what is the company? Tablets, as far as the eye can see. Apple has been coy about which iPads will be updated, but rumors and reports indicate a new OLED iPad Pro and an updated iPad Air.
The rumored iPad Pro may even skip the M3 chipset as it Bloomberg Mark Gurman suggested that there is a “strong possibility” that the tablet will include the next-generation M4. He also indicated that Apple will lean heavily on some new ai brands when it comes to the iPad Pro, calling it the company's “first truly ai-powered device.”
Beyond potentially having an ai on board to confidently, albeit mistakenly, answer questions this. That means a glorious display that should bring richer colors and deeper blacks to the line. OLED panels are also thinner than LCD panels, so this could be a slim device. There are also rumors that the iPad Pro will feature a glass back. .
It's been two full years since an iPad Air update, which is a lifetime in tech years. The updated iPad Air likely won't have a fancy next-generation chipset or an OLED display. However, it could boast an update to the M2 chip. Current models still sport the outdated M1. Reports also suggest that the iPad Air's front camera is moving towards the horizontal edge.
It's also possible that the tablet has been building up creatine, as rumors suggest Apple is preparing the first 12.9-inch iPad Air. This would make it the most affordable option for a large-screen iPad tablet.
The event will not be just for iPads. It will also be for iPad accessories. To that end, expect Apple to reveal a revamped Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro line, which could be made of aluminum. Additionally, Apple is expected to present a new apple pencil to replace the second generation model. Some reports have even indicated that the next Apple Pencil could work with as well as applications for tablets.
