While the Consumer Electronics Show appears to shed some light on auto-related announcements next year, Honda said it will use the event to launch a new global series of electric vehicles. And today he released his first preview.
The photo shows what appears to be a sloping rear section of a car with no taillights or bumpers visible. There's a wheel cover with aligned triangles and apparently a lot of glass and purple lighting. Beyond that, we don't know much more. That's the nature of the teaser: all style, no substance.

“Honda will showcase the global EV series models and several key technologies that illustrate the significant transformation Honda is currently undergoing,” the company said in a press release.
Until now, Honda's electric vehicle offering has been relatively modest. There is the Honda e city car exclusive to Europe and Asia and the Prologue SUV, which will soon arrive in North America. There's also the upcoming Acura ZDX from the company's performance brand. The company is targeting 30 new electric vehicles by 2030 with 2 million units sold, 100 percent zero-emission car sales by 2040, and carbon neutrality “for all products and corporate activities” by 2050.
But there have also been setbacks. Honda recently canceled plans to build a line of affordable electric vehicles with General Motors. And Cruise, GM's autonomous unit in which Honda is also an investor, halted all public operations after a pedestrian was injured by one of the company's self-driving vehicles.
A new EV World Series could mean a lot of things, so tune in to Honda's announcement at CES in Las Vegas on January 4, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. PT to find out more.
