Homeworld 3the long-awaited sequel to the 20-year-old real-time strategy game Homeworld 2, has been delayed once again, Gearbox Publishing and Blackbird Interactive announced. It will now be released on May 13, 2024, a couple of months after the previously announced debut on March 8.
The decision to delay was made after users outside the company played it. “This resulted in additional knowledge and perspectives that will be incorporated to make Homeworld 3 the best possible experience,” the team wrote. A public demonstration also influenced the decision, showing some affairs such as reticent camera and other controls.
Homeworld 3 It was originally planned for a 2022 release, but was pushed back to 2023 and then February 2024, and then again slightly to March 8. Although users of the public beta found some elements reluctant, the game also generated positive feedback, so the new date of May 13 may be realistic.
Homeworld 3 is an ambitious sequel to its popular predecessor, attempting to capture the vibe people loved while introducing new modes including PvP and co-op. The latter (War Games) has a roguelike aspect that emphasizes coordination with other players and may be the new title's ace in the hole. In any case, May is generally a quiet month for game releases, so if the latest date works out, it would be a good time to delve into a complex RTS.
