oh April Fool’s Day. The dreaded day when editors like it the edge you have to guess every potential news or suggestion that arrives in our Gmail inbox. Fortunately, when it comes to deals, things are usually exactly what they appear to be. Take advantage of today’s discount Apple’s sixth-generation iPad Miniwhich currently matching its all-time low of $399.99 ($100 off) on Amazon in 64GB configuration with Wi-Fi.
My colleague Dan Seifert recently announced that Apple’s newest iPad Mini is one of the best tablets for reading, but it’s suitable for much more than just recording whatever the latest BookTok craze is (spoiler: it’s still Colleen Hoover). . The revamped tablet is essentially a smaller version of the iPad Air, but with an 8.3-inch screen that’s easier to hold than the latter’s 10.9-inch panel. In addition, the 2021 Mini features a USB-C port, a speedy A15 Bionic chip, and support for the second-generation Apple Pencil—something that can’t be said for the cheapest model in Apple’s tablet lineup.
The last few weeks or so have been filled with headphone deals, offering solid discounts on everything from Google’s Pixel A series (now $79) to the ultra-reliable Jabra Elite 3 (now for less than $60). That being said, we believe that the current discount of $82 on Sony WF-1000XM4which brings them down to just $198 at Amazon and Best Buy, is the highlight. The XM4 boasts wireless charging, noise cancellation nearly on par with Bose’s, and a warm sound that revels in the mid and low frequencies. Besides, now that Sony has implemented multipoint support With the XM4 along with a variety of other wireless headphones, our biggest gripe with Sony’s flagship model has been officially addressed.
As expected, the Google Pixel 6A It’s still one of the best values in the smartphone world, one you can currently get in an unlocked configuration for an all-time low $299 ($150 off) at Amazon, Aimand Best Buy. Plus, the latter retailer is offering an additional $50 off when you activate the device on one of the three major carriers, specifically AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon.
We’ve covered the Pixel 6A a lot, especially since Google keeps discounting it so much! The Android phone is a great bang for the buck given that it packs an excellent (if slightly dated) camera system and the same Google Tensor processor found in Google’s next-gen flagship, the Pixel 6. The 6.1-inch display of the phone is also a nice friendly size that feels just right for many of us. Sure, the Pixel 7A is likely to make its Google I/O debut next month, but the 6A is still a worthwhile purchase at its current promo price.
Sonos’ latest smart speaker, the Era 100, might be the new default for some, but there are plenty of cheaper alternatives for those looking to get into the smart home game without spending $249. Amazon Echo fourth generation is an excellent example, and is currently available at Amazon, Best Buyand Aim on sale for $64.99 ($25 off).
Sound won’t be as rich or detailed as it could be with a high-end speaker, but the latest Echo sounds remarkably beefy, with a bit of stereo separation and an admirable amount of bass for its size. It also includes all the Alexa-based intelligence we’ve come to associate with Echo devices, along with the ability to serve as an Eero Mesh Wi-Fi Extender thanks to a recent OTA update that arrived in the fall.
Update April 1, 11:33 am ET: Added the Amazon deal for the first generation inReach Mini.
