Google is making it easier to keep track of Google Meet calls (which can easily get buried in your tabs) while using Chrome on desktop. The company is rolling out a feature that automatically opens a Google Meet call in picture-in-picture mode when you switch tabs in Chrome. According to a blog post.
As Google shows in a GIF, when you click outside of the Google Meet call, a new Meet window appears on another part of the screen so you can keep track of who's speaking. This can be helpful when you're looking at the document someone shared and not checking your Threads feed.
The automatic picture-in-picture feature isn't reserved for paid accounts; Google says it's available to “all Google Workspace customers, individual Workspace subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts.”
