The absurdity of that promotional image aside, Jackery is actually a respected manufacturer of large portable batteries for anyone who needs to recharge their lives when away from the grid. Today, the company publishes details about its latest flagship product: the Explorer 3000 Pro — first revealed at CES in January along with the lesser-specified Explorer 1500 Pro.
The Jackery Explorer 3000 Pro comes loaded with both AC and DC ports to charge just about anything you throw at it, including power tools, air conditioners, heaters, microwaves, blenders and all your other devices, producing up to 3000W of sustained AC output with a Peak of 6000W. You also have the option of connecting up to 1400W of solar input to the unit to keep everything charged on the go.
The 29 kg (nearly 64 lb) power station is made portable with a telescoping handle and wheels to help you transport the 3024 Wh of battery capacity. Unfortunately, Jackery still uses NMC battery chemistry here instead of the more advanced lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4, or LFP), which offers longer life and better performance.
And while we’re complaining, Jackery also doesn’t provide an app to remotely monitor their solar generators. It also uses non-standard eight-millimeter barrel connectors between its batteries and solar panels instead of the industry standard XT60/MC4. That means you’ll have to hunt around for adapters to connect to any third-party panels you already have.
Otherwise, Jackery says the Explorer 3000 Pro can be charged from zero to 100 percent in three to four hours with perfect sun hitting six of the company’s 200W panels at right angles. That charge time is reduced to 2.5 hours when connected to an AC outlet with a maximum of 1800W, or 35 hours from a 12V / 8A car outlet.
As for the outlets, the Explorer 3000 Pro is equipped with 4 AC (120V, 2400W), 1 AC (120V, 3000W), 2 USB-A (Quick Charge 3.0, 18W), 2 USB -C (100 W), and 1x car outlet (12V/10A).
