COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado/PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Tap Math, a multisensory math program that makes learning crucial math concepts accessible and clear for students who struggle to understand grade-level content, had three executives and three solutions recognized at the 2023 Equity Excellence Awards , including a category win in Special Contribution to Equity. The awards program received more than 120 nominations across its 25 different categories, each demonstrating innovative and diligent work being done across the country to improve student outcomes.
“We are honored to have so many of TouchMath's team members and solutions recognized at this year's Excellence in Equity Awards,” said Sean Lockwood, CEO of TouchMath. “This recognition is not only a testament and validation of the work my colleagues do every day, but also serves as a reminder to prioritize equitable instruction in everything we do. Congratulations to the TouchMath team members who were selected as finalists and to Scott for winning the Special Contribution to Equity.”
Scott Andrews, named Special Contribution to Equity and Product and Design Manager at TouchMath, has been an advocate for equity in education for more than a decade. His strong belief in universal access to quality mathematics education has led to the expansion of TouchMath materials into Spanish, helping linguistically diverse students. Through these initiatives, Scott's leadership has empowered both educators and students, removing barriers and fighting for educational equity.
“I am deeply grateful to have been named the category winner for an aspect of education that I am passionate about. For me, TouchMath’s long-standing commitment to inclusive education continues to be a driving factor in my work,” Andrews said. “Our upcoming initiatives are designed to strengthen equity in learning by expanding our library of resources in support of our diverse communities of learners and educators.”
