North Wilkesboro and Asheville, North Carolina – In support of North Carolina schools after Hurricane Helene, the right reader recently donated 315,000 books to support students in K-2 grades throughout the northwest and west of North Carolina. The books, which are included in the reader of the correct ones Read Science Take-Verywhere Literacy Packs They were distributed to public school systems throughout the region in association with the alliance of the Northwest Region Education Service (NWRESA) and the Alliance of the Education Service of the Western Region (WRESA).

“As our area continues to recover, we are very grateful for the right reader for their generous donation to our students, many of whom lost all their supplies and school books, instead of other articles, during the hurricane,” added Jan Webter , Director of Wresa, which is in Asheville, North Carolina.
The right reader donated a total of 31,500 Read Science Take-Verywhere Literacy Packs equivalent to 315,000 books, to Nwresa and Wresa. Then, the organizations distributed the packages directly to the districts in their service area.

- QR codes in each book that parents and caregivers can scan to access the funny and Spanish phonetic lessons to support reading at home
- Access to an online family center with research -based activities that motivate students to read and continue reading
“Many families in North Carolina have been strongly affected by Hurricane Helene. Some schools were closed for a month or more and many families do not yet have permanent homes.
