WASHINGTON DC – The Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS) announces that it has appointed Ulysses “Uly” Navarrete as its new executive director.
Navarrete brings an extraordinary wealth of experience, dedication, and a fervent passion for advocating for Latino students nationwide. Known to all as “Uly,” he brings nearly two decades of invaluable experience as an advocate for Latino children across the country.
As an experienced business leader with various roles in the private sector, he has been a tireless advocate and advocate for equity, fostering the growth of ALAS affiliates and members. His strategic acumen has led to increased revenue, sustainable growth, national partnerships and cohesive communications strategies within the organizations he served.
Navarrete's unwavering commitment to fostering inclusion and championing diversity resonates deeply with ALAS' mission to address the educational needs of Latino students nationwide. As a first-generation son of Mexican immigrants, he intimately understands the importance of creating opportunities for underrepresented communities. His personal mantra of “Always do it for them” underscores his dedication to prioritizing the needs of students and administrators alike.
