Charlotte, NC – He Country Music Association and discovery education today announced a new virtual experience of its Working In Harmony educational initiative: Every Voice is Instrumental. Country Music’s Biggest Night: STEAM Takes the Spotlight Virtual field trip shows students in grades 6-12 how science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) drives innovation in country music.
Premiered on February 16 at 1 p.m. Students will meet several STEAM professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds who help make Country Music’s Biggest Night™ a reality. Introducing students to critical behind-the-scenes professions, including stage directing, hair and makeup, production and security, Country Music’s Biggest Night: STEAM Takes the Spotlight Virtual Field Trip opens the curtain on the CMA Awards, the longest-run annual music awards show on network television. An accompanying educator’s guide and multiple classroom activities provide teachers with materials and activities for before, during, and after the virtual field trip. This Virtual Field Trip (VFT) is part of Working in Harmony: Every Voice is Instrumental, an educational initiative for students and educators in grades 3-12. Through this initiative, students receive a free set of digital resources that help them learn about the many career opportunities offered within the country music industry. Working in Harmony also includes several types of standards-aligned resources that demonstrate how country music is fueled by bold ideas and a wide variety of unique STEAM careers and diverse professionals.
