I have been using standing desks for years. Since I use my computer a lot, I know it’s important not to sit at my desk for hours on end. There are two types of desks. Manual and Electric. I, like probably you, have a lot of stuff on my desk. Trying to manually raise and lower the desk with things covered will probably end in you never raising and lowering the desk. Counterproductive. I feel vindicated by my choice of the electric standing desk. I use it a lot in standing mode. Standing up during a meeting or webinar definitely improves my engagement and energy.
Knowing how much of a fan I am of standing desks, FlexiSpot he reached out to me to ask how his desk compares. Spoiler alert: It’s significantly better and I love it!
sitting is worse than smoking
Do a Google search for “Sitting is worse than smoking.” But we know we need to move more and sit less. Alternating between sitting and standing can not only be good for your health, but it can also improve your mood! Adjustable standing desks also allow you to get the right height to reduce neck and back pain. I read several articles about sitting and everyone recommended a standing desk.
What Makes the FlexiSpot Q8 Standing Desk Awesome
Larger desktop space
The first thing I noticed when I unboxed the Q8 is how much bigger it was. A width of 55″. Now that I’ve been using the desktop for a couple of months, it’s a significant difference. As a teacher I have books and paperwork in addition to my coffee and laptop. My desk looks less cluttered even though I have a LOT on it!
Solid wood surface.
My previous desk not only had a smaller desk surface, but it came in 3 pieces. This created 2 seams on the desk. This was also a point of weakness.
The FlexiSpot Q8 Standing Desk is STURDY!
If I’m frustrated and I hit the desk, my stuff isn’t going to go flying. Pushing down on the desk to get up (when not in a standing position) does not offset the desk. As a mom of 5 kids and 2 dogs, I need something that will withstand unexpected stress. The FlexiSpot Q8 is!
improved frame
You have to see it to understand why you need a improved framework. The engine is not a bulky cylinder under the desk.
The power is in the legs!!
As mentioned before, this desk is STURDY! The frame is the main reason for that. The motorized features are in the legs and can effortlessly lift anything I have on my desk.
With my old desk, I would move my coffee and other items around before moving the desk up and down. No more! My FlexiSpot doesn’t even cause a ripple in my drinks. Smooth and powerful engines.
Collision Avoidance
No more ruining my desk and any items it bumped into. When lowering your standing desk, you want to make sure there is nothing underneath that will get in the way. I wish I had paid as much attention to what he was doing.
FlexiSpot has collision avoidance
Why is my desktop not going down? Oh right, feel something in the way. Genius!! This is definitely a must have feature.
wireless charging
ALL
HE
TIME
I have my phone sitting next to me… NOT plugged in.
The FlexiSpot Q8 has a wireless charging point conveniently just to the right of where I’m sitting… where I’d leave my phone anyway.
integrated USB ports
A desk with built-in USB ports? Yes please! Not only that, but one is standard USB A and the other is USB C (which is how my Mac and Pixel phone charge).
inferior and superior
Electronic controls on the desk allow me to adjust the height to within a tenth of an inch. The 4 presets allow me to quickly go from sitting to standing. What really stood out to me was how low it will go down and how high it will go up. I had a need to lower the desk lower than with other desks and it still wasn’t on the lowest setting. Whatever height you need for the various tasks you’re performing, the FlexiSpot Q8 Standing Desk has you covered.
I love the FlexiSpot Q8 standing desk
My honest review is that this is an amazing desk!! If you want a desk you’ll love and that will last a long time, consider the FlexiSpot Q8 Standing Desk.

My honest review of the FlexiSpot Q8 Standing Desk is that I love it! It’s much stronger than any desk I’ve ever owned. I can effortlessly raise and lower the desk no matter how much I have on the desk. As teachers, we sit at our desks grading papers and planning lessons. Stand Up for Health and get a standing desk.

Students have long struggled with fractions. Continuing the traditional way of teaching fractions knowing that it hasn’t worked is possibly the definition of insanity. Students need to visualize and explore concepts to gain number sense in order to increase their confidence and understanding of fractions. Have students visualize adding fractions until they can figure out the pattern instead of telling them the rules for common denominators. Use Mathigon Polypad to help students with visualization.

While there is no magic bullet for student engagement, there are things we can do in the classroom to improve the chances of student engagement. The 4 C’s are attractive.
