Currently, there are more state high school leagues and associations on the LeagueOS portal than any other recruiting platform.
The goal of the effort is to connect high school students who are interested in competing at the next level with college and university esports programs for two- and four-year institutions. The platform will feature API integration for a number of popular titles so coaches and managers can learn more about the potential student-athlete and connect with them directly. The portal also reflects a variety of student talents and incorporates other high-demand skills such as streaming and listeningcasting.
As a result of competing in NECC, all member institutions already exist on the recruiting platform and directors can create and manage their program pages, providing more detailed information about their school's esports program. Schools can provide what degrees they currently sponsor and other program-specific information, such as whether scholarships are offered, etc.
“We are very excited to formally announce our partnership with NASEF and LeagueOS on this effort,” said NECC Executive Commissioner Jacob VanRyn. “As we move toward NECC becoming more of a member services organization, there are few, if any, things that are more important to our members than providing them with ways they can connect and recruit potential student-athletes. to join your group. programs.”
“The option to compete or contribute to a team's success in collegiate esports (and potentially earn a scholarship for doing so) is critical for high school students whose passion is gaming,” said Gerald Solomon, executive director of NASEF. “Many factors go into finding the right match between a student and school; “We are excited that this partnership will allow thousands of NASEF student members around the world to learn more about their options by highlighting their skills in and out of games to university program directors.”
VanRyn continued: “Today's announcement that the portal is live is the result of a lot of planning and support from our friends at LeagueOS and NASEF. I would personally like to thank you for your support. “We are excited about this effort.”
