Openai recently launched GPT-4.5 to the subscribers of Chatgpt Plus, and began to explore the tool for their educational applications in general, and the university writing classes that I teach specifically.
I asked GPT-4.5 to prove luck in creative writing, help with the planning of the lesson, respond to the indications I use with the students and help me understand some concepts in physics with which I have fought for a long time.
After performing these tests, I am not particularly impressed. Without a doubt, it is a technological wonder that would have induced gasp a few years ago. However, today Openai is a victim of its own success, and the last and supposedly greater GPT model is possibly surpassed by OpenAi and its competitors.

How does GPT-4.5 work with lessons plans?
I asked GPT-4.5 to create a lesson plan for my class. I told him that he was a university professor who taught a class of first -year computer resources and wanted students to learn the foundations of AP style reports, objective reports, ethics of journalism, the inverted pyramid and the difference between traditional journalism and many forms of new journalism, for example, blogger.
GPT-4.5 gave a decent and broad lessons plan that played these issues. However, it was nothing that did not think that previous GPT models or other AIS could have generated.
When I asked GPT-4.5 to suggest readings to accompany this lesson, he became very slow and seemed to block. I had to go out and open a new browser and then ask again to get some suggested readings, but generate those readings was still slow. It would have been faster and more productive for Google's potential readings for a news writing class.

What is GPT-4.5 in writing?
Many students continue to use ai to write tasks at all levels of education. Therefore, it is always a good idea to be aware of what the last models of ai are able to create.
To evaluate this, I put a notice that I use for a first -year writing class that I taught. The writing was technically solid, but it still seemed generated by Ia. However, this writing of ai is not as obvious as it was a year ago.
I also gave him a detailed message of creative writing and, as with other models, he impressed me and probably a bit disturbed by quality. Even so, it was definitely not a good writing and still feels lifeless, but GPT-4.5 and other models released are recently reducing the use of cliché and making fewer strange mistakes. That said, he still has no life in his tone and emotional impact.
GPT-4.5: In a nutshell
GPT-4.5 It is an impressive technology , but does not represent any important leap of other ai tools available for both Operai and other technological companies. A chatgpt plus subscription would not be worth only for this model.
Educators who are ai enthusiasts may want to play with this, since they will probably find some specific uses I did not do. But for the expert teacher, but obsessed, I don't think there is anything here, they must worry about disappearing. Nor will the game really change in terms of how ai is being used by our students.
Ultimately, GPT-4 reminds me of later iPhone launches. Of course, it became a little lighter and improvements were made in the camera, but at the end of the day, his smartphone remained functionally the same.
