Getting started was as simple as plug and play, as my devices recognized both immediately.
My first impressions from a construction standpoint were very positive. The design is well thought out with a 5-foot braided cable, sturdy molded end connections, and an integrated Velcro strap that stays on the cable while in use. The soft in-ear design and headband padding were very comfortable and easy to clean.
I found that they have ample adjustability and almost fit my adult head. Additionally, the short KidCom microphone stands out from the unit by less than an inch and will definitely make cleaning easier and reduce breakage and distractions.

I tested the AVID WonderEars AP-400 headphones in several scenarios and found that the 3.5mm and USB-C models connected immediately to Chromebook and PC devices. I listened to music, spoken works and videos, and had a pleasant listening experience that delivered clear sound that captured the entire sound experience.
In my experience, the recording properties of each were a little different, with the 3.5mm connection offering slightly better overall voice recording quality than USB-C. Not to say the USB-C input was poor, just the 3.5mm connection had a bit more clarity. Of course, there are many factors that contribute to this difference, such as device hardware, drivers, etc. Educators and students would be happy with any of the units for recording student audio.
