Welcome to the June edtech Show & Tell, where our editors share some of the new edtech products that have caught our attention this month. These are not reviews or endorsements, but rather a sampling of education-related articles, platforms, and more that we think might be worth mentioning to you.
This month's new offerings include an interactive display certified by Google's Enterprise Device Licensing Agreement (EDLA), a compact laser projector for large venues, robots for elementary school students, and more.
Samsung WAD Series
The Interactive Display WAD series is a Google Enterprise Device License Agreement (EDLA) certified classroom display. Running Android 13 operating system, the series has built-in support for popular Google services including Google Classroom and Drive. Pre-installed apps, such as YouTube and Google Chrome, and downloadable access to additional educational apps through the Google Play Store open up new possibilities for lesson planning and creative learning.
Epson EB PQ Series
Epson's new EB PS series are 4K laser projectors for large spaces that offer higher pixel density to ensure realistic content, especially when viewed up close. With eight models, the new line ranges between 8,000 and 20,000 lumens of brightness. The full line includes Epson's 3-chip 3LCD technology and new 4K Crystal Motion technology that aims to provide 4K resolution with extraordinary detail and color brilliance. The new EB-PQ series was created with this in mind and offers a range of high brightness options with powerful feature sets in a compact chassis.
Legrand | OF Boss
This all-in-one configurable wall mounting system is designed to improve efficiency by streamlining the installation workflow for AV and construction professionals, which can reduce costs for schools and districts. Contractors can install in-wall boxes with a stud tab kit (FPIWMKIT1) during the preliminary construction phase. The wall mounting kit (FPIWMKIT2) can be ordered separately and delivered after wall finishing is complete to add flanges, display mount, and storage plates for small devices.
Arduino Álvik
With the upcoming integration of block-based programming, the compact and robust Alvik robot is positioned to support primary education, making coding accessible to younger students. Sensors and motion control systems allow Alvik to interact with its environment. With additional connectors and sensor ports, these integrated sensors allow users to transform Alvik into a mobile vehicle, bulldozer, delivery robot, or automated inspection robot for a variety of classroom applications.
Parent Square Studio Editor
Studio Editor is a drag-and-rearrange tool for creating newsletters that requires no design or coding skills. Pre-designed templates and themes make it easy to create engaging posts and announcements, helping districts maintain consistent branding while giving their newsletters a personalized look. Readers can view content on any device and translation support is also included in over 100 languages.
VuWall VuStream 150 Encoder
The VuStream 150 encoder integrates with PAK and VuScape video wall processors, while it is centrally managed by TRx. It offers 4K encoding, 4:4:4 pass-through, 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 encoding and streaming, PoE support, and compatibility with third-party software decoders. The VuStream 150 is NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) and TAA (Trade Agreements Act) compliant, adheres to the provisions outlined in the National Defense Authorization Act, and is eligible for US government procurement. Science Education Vernier and Texas Instruments Go Direct Sensors, DataQuest App, and TI-Nspire CX II and CX II CAS Graphing Calculators
Texas Instruments and Vernier Science Education offer a new, app-based way for teachers to engage students in real-time, hands-on STEM learning. Students can now use six Vernier Go Direct sensors along with the Vernier DataQuest app on the TI-Nspire CX II and TI-Nspire CX II CAS graphing calculators to wirelessly collect and analyze scientific data while exploring phenomena and thinking like real scientists. Once connected, students can open the Vernier DataQuest app on their calculator and easily begin collecting a variety of data, as well as quickly repeat tests to ensure data accuracy.
