Infosys Recently announced a critical milestone in his three -year collaboration with Street boyAn international beneficial organization for children, with the establishment of seven digital learning centers (DLC) to address the educational challenges that children face in the areas affected by the Ukraine crisis.
This collaboration addresses the deep interruption of the Ukraine Educational System caused by the ongoing conflict, which has affected more than 3,700 educational institutions and destroying 365 schools, as reported by Save the Children. The conflict has forced approximately 1.9 million children, almost half of the school population of Ukraine, to trust partial or totally remote learning solutions. Recognizing this critical need, Infosys joined Street Child in 2024 to launch two shocking initiatives: create physical spaces insured by DLC equipped for online learning and a digital transformation program, taking advantage of Infosys TrampolineInfosys flagship digital learning platform, to provide personalized courses for students and teachers.
Initially focused on creating and renewing five DLC in Dnipropetrovsk, an Oblast in East Ukraine received less international help due to its proximity to the front line, the collaboration notably delivered seven within 12 months after the commitment. In particular, a center was renewed by a team of totally feminine contractors, since recruitment limited the availability of male workers.
Launched in September 2024, these centers have already served more than 1,000 children in their first three months of operations. Each center is equipped with laptops, high -speed internet, multimedia projectors, educational materials, security systems and accessibility characteristics, such as wheelchairs and modified bathroom ramps. In addition, the designated spaces for mental health and psychosocial support (MHPS) provide critical support for young students.
The digital transformation program focuses on preserving the cultural identity of Ukraine by offering courses in the language and geography of Ukraine for grades 5 and 6. For teachers, topics such as cybersecurity and anti -corruption are addressed through specially developed courses, aligning without sewing with the National Educational Platform of Ukraine, all Ukrainian online. Together, these initiatives are helping to build a robust and resistant educational basis for students and teachers.
Tom Dannatt, CEO and co -founder, Street Child, said: “In Street Child, we are working to create a world where each child is sure, in school and learning. Unfortunately, the reality for Ukrainian children is that a significant number of them cannot attend a physical classroom, so we are focusing on efforts where we can make the biggest difference. In this case, that means making the most of digital education. Although we are still in the early stages, we are proud to have worked with Infosys to support more than 1,000 children in the midst of this terrible conflict. The early success of this scheme demonstrates the transformative potential to offer quality education in many regions affected by the crisis worldwide. “
Thirumala Arohi, Executive Vice President, Chief – Education, Training and Evaluation, Infosys, He said: “The collaboration between Infosys and Street Child is crucial since it directly addresses the devastating impact of the conflict on the Ukraine Educational System. With hundreds of destroyed schools and millions of displaced children or depending on remote learning, access to quality education has become a critical need. Infosys provides this collaboration not only its technological experience but also a deep commitment to social impact. Together with Street Child, we provide tangible solutions through the establishment of seven digital learning centers that offer safe physical spaces equipped with the necessary technology and we are taking advantage of the Infosys trampoline to allow a digital transformation program to offer custom courses for effective online learning. This holistic approach allows students to continue their education, support teachers in adapting new learning environments and, ultimately, contributes to building a more resistant educational basis for the future of Ukraine. ”
