To fill these vacancies, FlowerA leader of Talent Development for School Districts K-12, has been associated with Miami based in Miami Barry University To launch an innovative degree program at work for aspiring educators.
The Jet Route Program (Job Incruited Teach) provided by Barry University and Bloorboard allows the parafessionals and staff who are already employed in schools to continue working in the classroom as they earn a degree in education, with options for Specialization in early childhood, primary, primary, and exceptional education for students.
“This association creates an affordable path to take the qualified teachers to the classrooms where they are most needed,” said Dr. Pablo Ortiz, rector of the University of Barry. “Taking advantage of the immense group of talents that already exists in our schools can decrease the shortage of teachers in Florida, and in other areas of the country that choose to register in our program.”
Candidates with associated titles currently work in a school can register in the program as part of a cohort sponsored by their district. All candidates who obtain their bachelor's degree and approve all the required certification evaluations will be eligible for a full teaching certificate in Florida.
“Our collaboration with the University of Barry creates a sustainable pipe of passionate and qualified teachers,” said Sanford Kenyon, CEO of Bloorboard. “At a time when some schools are fighting to fill vacancies with teachers who are not certified in the field they teach, this program will offer Florida students to accredited and dedicated teachers who need and deserve.”

The Superintendent of the Hernando County School District, Ray Pinder, explained: “Through our association with Bloorboard, we find an unspecified resource to help fill our instructional openings.
