Many English teachers have drawn a line in the sand against all the uses of ai for students. Bill Henry, an eighth grade English professor at Amity Middle School in Orange, Connecticut, on the other hand, has adopted the approach of his school to teach students how to use ai in a responsible and ethical way that prepares them for a world in which ai will probably play an increasingly important role.
“The thought process behind this is that technology will continue to be there, and if we accept it from the beginning and teach them to use it, they can achieve more than if they try to use the phones or a separate tab,” says Henry.
